Cheap Monday at Eternal Envy Boutique
Cheap Monday was born in 2004 as an alternative for people who wanted fashionable jeans but didn’t agree with the increasing prices of the brands which were popular at the time. The first 800 pairs with the characteristic skull logo hit the market in 2004. Since then, the production has reached a new level in terms of pieces as well as in product range. Cheap Monday can be found in more than 35 co…untries, in about 1800 stores around the world.
At Eternal Envy we have finally received our first full collection of Cheap Monday which is Spring Summer 12, read below the story of their inspiration.
SS12 Inspiration
This time we look back upon a time when our parents were young and a new generation was turning the older generations´ concepts and ideas on its head. We celebrate and focus on a period when groundbreaking new ideas were perceived with a deadpan seriousness and where the irony of today was unheard of.
This was an idealistic time where naïveté was considered de rigueur, a compassionate climate that stands in stark contrast to the present, with soft values that modern day cynics frown upon as utopian thinking.
We have been inspired by the concept of living alternative lives, celebrating the collective and valuing idealism – a nostalgic and romantic setting for SS12.
The sweetness of youth and the innocence of a first romance sets the tone for the colours – based on a palette of Polaroid nuances with bold touches of orange, royal blue and mint. The youthful feeling runs through the laced pieces, both knit and woven, and the A-line shaped pieces with the key look being the tunic – worn either with bare legs or with wide-legged trousers. Mens, womens and denim collections features functional and decorative eyelets and plexiglass details referring to bold ideas and new materials.
The denim portrays a classic touch – wide legs, cropped lengths and strong indigo are featured. Denim washes are moderate to light and combined with pleated styles and soft chino inspired overdyes.

Edward Hugh de Lacy
You know when you get that feeling, a sense of precipitous change? That is the feeling that we get with our handbag designer Edward De Lacy, we kind of think that we won’t be lucky enough to have him to ourselves for much longer, before he gets discovered for the amazing talent that he is.
He has finely tuned his own edgy inimitable style, and already many have tried to copy him, but failed to capture the finish and attention to detail.
Each of his bags is incredibly unique, and we have developed a big fan base in our shop where people recognise that to own one of his pieces, is to inevitably own a piece of fashion history.
The hides for each of the bags are bought from farmers as a by product, and are constructed by Edward into new exciting designs that just keep on coming, continual twists and detail that set him apart from the monotony.
We are even in the position to take commissions at the moment, you can have a bag made especially for you, choosing the size, shape and even the lining….we feel like we have died and gone to handbag heaven.

This week one of our fabulous labels, Bolongaro Trevor have been nominated for a prestigious Drapers Award. The category they have been nominated for is Womenswear Brand of the Year, and at Eternal Envy Boutique we cannot help but think ABOUT TIME!
This beautiful fashion forward label from the founders of All Saints has been one to watch for a few seasons now, with their designs setting themselves well apart from other brands with their completely innovative cutting edge fashion. In their own words “Original, unique and commercial, comprising of contemporary handmade pieces inspired by vintage finds, creating a modern and sharp sculptured aesthetic”
Amassing fans such as the Daisy Lowe, Agyness Deyn and Courtney Love, the future is looking bright.
